Bio

  • I was first exposed to the Ronald McDonald House in 2019 when I was invited to attend the annual House Party. During that event I was able to tour both the house and mobile dental unit, and I was inspired by all the ways the House contributes to our community. As a parent of a NICU baby I understand how critical being able to remain close to your sick child is. I was blessed to become a volunteer board member in 2021 and proud to be a part of helping to continue to keep children and families close when it matters most.

  • After growing up in a small farming community in Illinois, I moved to Phoenix to begin my 22-year career as an attorney. Having spent the first fifteen years of my legal career as a litigator, I moved to Tucson seven years ago to join Tucson Electric Power Company. In my role as Assistant General Counsel, I manage a team responsible for TEP’s litigation and risk strategies including dispute resolution, insurance, claims management, labor and employment, records retention, enterprise risk and business continuity. I pride myself on being a quick-study, service-minded, people person. I love that I get to help others succeed! I hold a Bachelor of Arts (History), Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

The opportunity to serve on the RMHC-SA board is truly an honor. Like so many families, I have a personal connection to Ronald McDonald House. My son was born in 2010 with a rare medical condition that required lengthy trips from Phoenix to Chicago to see a medical specialist. Ultimately, he had eleven surgeries beginning when he was 7 months old. The stress and strain upon my wife, our daughter who was just 2 years old, and me was extraordinary. We were blessed to stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago. The kindness and comfort we felt had a profound impact on me, and I will make it my mission to help the Tucson house deliver the same comfort to families in need.

Today, my son is healthy and active in Boy Scouts, my daughter is a passionate soccer player and my wife, also an attorney, is my partner in this great adventure called life. When not working, I volunteer with my son’s Boy Scout Troop, support my daughter’s soccer club, and play guitar so dreadfully that it isn’t fit for anybody’s ears.

  • I believe that the Ronald McDonald House provides invaluable services to those in need at their greatest time of need. When you have a sick child you need as much help as possible so that you can focus all of your energy on them and RMH does so many things to allow families to do that. My participation with RMH is a way for me to help in that mission and it is my honor to be a part of the House.

  • I retired in 2016 after a forty-five-year career in healthcare with a previous stint in public accounting. Over my forty-year tenure, Geisinger Health evolved into a large regional integrated health service organization based in Danville, Pennsylvania. I served as Geisinger’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from 1983 until retirement. At its core Geisinger’s is a multispecialty group practice of approximately 2,000 employed physicians including a comprehensive pediatric clinical program.

In 1974 my second daughter, three-month-old Nikki, was diagnosed with cancer. Nikki was referred to Dr. Audrey Evans at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in September of 1974 one month prior to the opening of the very first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. While never having stayed at the Ronald McDonald House my family learned of Dr. Evans’s passionate spearheading of this concept with the Philadelphia Eagles and Regional McDonald’s Owner/Operators.

In 1980, I introduced the Ronald McDonald House concept to Geisinger leadership, which led to co-founding the Ronald McDonald House of Danville. The original Ronald McDonald House of Danville opened its doors in April 1981 followed by a new larger Ronald McDonald House several years later.

At my retirement, the Ronald McDonald House of Danville’s Board dedicated its Playroom in Nikki’s memory and renamed the street on which the Ronald McDonald House is located “Trembulak Way.”

I remain a staunch supporter of the Ronald McDonald House program and am honored to be a member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Arizona Board.

  • My connection to the House is different than most of the Board Members. I have a close friend who introduced me to the Ronald McDonald House many years ago. I was impressed then with what they did for the families that needed a place to stay when they had very sick kids in the hospital. I started volunteering and over the years saw the organization grow and expand their services, truly becoming a life-saver for the families. More than 15 years later, and I’m still in awe that the staff and all the volunteers at the House remain passionate about the mission and are committed to doing whatever it takes to make the House a home for families in need.
