This urgent problem is the reason why, with support from friends of RMHC, each year, we deliver hundreds of dental visits to children in communities around Southern Arizona on our Ronald McDonald Care Mobile programs.

Ronald McDonald Care Mobile in partnership with Chiricahua Community Health Centers
Serving children ages 0-18 in Cochise County
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile in partnership with Chiricahua Community Health Centers travels from Douglas to Willcox, visiting schools in high-poverty areas in the Sulphur Springs Valley, bringing critical dental care at no or low cost to pre-school and school-aged children as well as teenagers. Dentists with CCHCI provide important dental screenings, apply fluoride to prevent tooth decay, treat existing dental problems and help educate children and their parents about good oral health.

Serving children ages 0-17 in Pima County
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile in partnership with MHC Healthcare operates in Pima County serving children across the Tucson metro area. Augmenting their services in Marana, Oro Valley, and central and east Tucson, the Care Mobile can often be found at MHC Healthcare clinics, McDonald’s restaurants and at other nonprofit organizations who serve children and families. A full dentist office on wheels, the vehicle is equipped with three operatories and a panoramic x-ray to care for nearly every pediatric dental health need.

Who is the staff on Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles?
All of the clinical operations for the Care Mobiles are provided by either Chiricahua Community Health Centers or MHC Healthcare. Patients see fully licensed dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants.
Where do Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles operate?
In Cochise County, āRonā visits schools and community health centers throughout the county, especially in cities such as Douglas, Benson, Willcox, and Pearce, to name just a few. In Pima County, you might find āBig Macā at an MHC Clinic in Tucson, Marana or Oro Valley; at local schools; or at a local nonprofits such as More thana Bed or the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. In both counties, our friends at McDonaldās often provide space in their parking lots so the community can utilize the mobile dental clinic services.
Do Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles only treat children?
Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles provide health care and health education services to children from birth to 18 years old.
Does the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile replace regular visits to a dentist?
In many cases, the Care Mobiles can provide most routine dental needs for children. In the case that other equipment or providers are necessary, the staff can provide referrals.
What type of organization qualifies as the āhealthcare organizationā or āclinical service providerā?
RMHC looks for healthcare partners who have 501(c)(3) status and a mission that complements that of RMHC. Both of our partners are Federally Qualified Health Centers and join in our mission to treat all families, regardless of their ability to pay for services.
Do children or their families have to pay for health care services provided by Ronald McDonald Care Mobile?
All services offered on Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles are provided in a cost effective manner to children and their families. No child is denied care based on ability to pay. However, reimbursement from a third party, such as AHCCCS (Medicaid), is sought if applicable, as is sliding-scale payment that complements the pay schedule already in place at the base of operations.
