Hayes parents knew that he would be born with a condition called Gastroschisis. Which is a defect in the abdomen wall, leaving some of his small intestines on the outside of his abdomen. What they were not prepared for was him being born at 25 weeks gestation. The Ronald McDonald House provided his family a place to stay, as they lived 1.5 hours away from TMC. Hayes parents and his 2 doting big brothers stayed at the Ronald McDonald house of Tucson for over 6 months so they can be by their sweet baby boys side every step of the way. It was a very long and emotional experience for the entire family, but with the help of the Ronald McDonald house, they were able to stay close and together. Hayes is currently meeting all his developmental mile stones and is thriving at home. Thank you to the RMDH for providing the most positive experience possible for this family during the most emotional time of their lives.
