Wishes Granted

Every year we post a wish list for the House – toys for our kids, gifts for their parents, supplies we need to keep the House running. This year we were overwhelmed (and overjoyed) with our community’s response.

We received a bounty of toys and stuffed animals, books and games, bikes and trikes, TVs and DVDs, cleaning supplies and paper products, along with gift cards and even a Christmas tree.  And let’s not forget the new commercial-size mixer for the kitchen so our volunteer bakers can keep the cookies coming!

The givers were just as varied.  We had members of Jeep Clubs and Car Clubs, third graders and high school students, sororities, fraternities, baseball teams and soccer teams, local and national business groups and lots of incredibly generous volunteers and friends.  Just since December 1, we had more than 80 of these gift givers at the Ronald McDonald House.

Every family who left the Ronald McDonald House close to Christmas took home a BIG box of toys.  Every family who was here on Christmas Day woke up to a great big box of toys and gifts outside their door.  We wish we could share all the smiles with you but what we CAN do is share our thanks!
