CJ & ALEXANDER

CJ (pictured) was adopted by a wonderful family from Las Vegas in 2011. The family was enthusiastic about adopting his half brother, Alexander, when he was born this past February. They stayed in Tucson at the Ronald McDonald House for just under a week. Here is mom Katie’s letter:

“Dear Cheri,

I am sorry that it has taken me so long to write this, but I wanted to send a note to thank you, your staff and the RMH volunteers. We stayed there at the end of February.

When I headed down to Tucson for the birth of our son’s half brother…, I had no idea where I would stay or how we would afford the trip. My first night in Tucson, the hotel was less than amazing and I was a little nervous about being there alone. When the social worker at UMC told me that I may qualify to stay at RMH, I was very excited. As you gave me a tour of the house, I was beyond amazed at what a blessing I was being given. The longer we stayed, the more you did for me and my family. From giving CJ a toy (which he still plays with every day) to providing us with a family pass to the Children’s Museum, we were blown away by the generosity.

I was humbled because I know that most of the families staying at the house were dealing with much more stressful situations with their children. The work that you do is so incredible.

I know that you do this every day, but I am so thankful for you and everyone else affiliated with the house. Since returning to Las Vegas, we have told as many people as possible about the wonderful things RMH does for its families. I am hopeful that many of them will find ways to support RMH.

We look forward to heading back to Tucson at some point this month to pick up baby Alex. When we do, we plan to visit and drop off a little something to thank RMH for the hospitality. I hope we’ll be able to see you when we stop by.

Thank you and God bless,

Katie

PS – CJ loved staying at the House. Attached is one of the many pictures we took that show how much fun he had.
