Cindy & Jim Evers at House Party 2016

January Volunteer Spotlight: Cindy Evers

1.17.17

Cindy Evers, who retired from Tucson Medical Center as a Labor & Delivery nurse in 2014, was looking for a new project. Friends invited her to the House to cook as part of our Chef for a Day program. She liked it here and wanted to learn more.

“I thought that volunteering for Ronald McDonald House would be a good fit for me and it absolutely is,” Cindy says.

Not only does Cindy help in the House at the front desk (even on Christmas Eve), she’s helping with outreach. Making sure that nurses, doctors, social workers who should know about the services we offer, do know. And encouraging friends and family to join her in supporting the work of the House.

“I know that I can make a difference in the lives of the families at the Ronald McDonald House. And I know they appreciate what I do.”
